I have a bit of work coming up in St. Vincents hospital and was thinking of cycling part of the journey as traffic can be a bitch over near the hospital. I can park in my friends in Kilmainham then jump on the bike so which route would be the best? Canal or SCR or down the Quays? Or does anyone else have any other ideas? How long would it take me? I'm middling fit, I'd cover the distance in under 20 minutes on open road.

St Vincent's Hospital, Fairview or St Vincent's Hospital, Elm Park?

    Elm Park.

I'd go down Parnell Rd/Canal Rd etc. and turn right onto Sussex Road at Lesson St Bridge and up Morehampton Rd/Donnybrook Rd/Stillorgan Rd and right onto Nutley Lane. Easily done in 20 mins.

Be extremely careful with parking your bike there.
The bike park is a hotspot for thieves. Even the cage part.

How do they get into the cage? The security guards need their arses kicked if they can't spot something suspicious there. Lot of bikes parked there too so I'm not surprised it attracts attention but seriously, Something not right there.....

Security are not in charge of the bikes.
    CCTV doesn't cover it.
I've been a victim unfortunately a few years ago.
    I reckon it's watched.
