I'm hoping those that have completed may be able to help me with my window detail. Is the attached the correct way to complete airtightness around the window or should I just be using a tape like this one

esox23 had some pics here but looks different.

Thanks. Any pics would be great.

Having done an airtightness course in athboy, and not a million miles away from this stage myself, I think your detail round the windows is good.Obviously you're drylining aswell.

There are many ways to string a cat, and exo's is a much different detail to yours...... so I wouldn't get hung up on what he did..... ie - I wouldn't say he has drylined for one.

If you are certain you've achieved airtightness and with no possibility of the tape falling away over the next 50 years then I would say you're good to go.

I have also been to the course in Athboy and your work looks fine to me, but I'm no expert. I will be doing out new shortly. One thing I notice is that you used the Contega SL tape around windows. Does this not have an adhesive strip on 3 sides? Is the Contega FC tape more suitable or does the SL tape work out okay?

    Thanks for the reply glashanator

This is not my detail, I've been bouncing around sites as my own progresses. I wont be drylining so I was thinking this would'nt work for the plasterer. I was thinking this tape alone would be used, nothing else but would it be good enough (wide enough and have enough strength). <snip>

I was hoping someone may tell me this also as the guys on the support email are'nt in anyway interested in helping with the correct materials, just to sell.

My windows going in week after next so won't have pics for a few more weeks.
Got quote from supplier in Athboy and discussed details of where certain tapes used, etc. He assured me Contega SL is best tape for around windows. Also said that the mastic should be used to stick membrane and tapes to concrete blocks, which I hadn't realised.
On the plus side the quote was a lot more competitive than I thought it would be.

You have as well the Fentrim 20 from Siga, it sticks to windows and blocks.
    Check here :
