E90 Clutch Return Spring Issue

    Hi Guys,

    The GF's car, a E90 318 has an issue with teh clutch pedal return spring.
    It has fallen off from it mountings, however when I had a look, the mounting ring where the spring attaches to is worn through..
    Any ideas for fixing this?

    It's spring #15 on this diagram, the top end bracket is the problem one...

    Not sure what you mean, is it somewhere around the figure 26?

    Yeah up that direction, there's not a clear view of it on that diagram, basically an eyelet/hole in the metal frame at the top of the clutch pedal.

    Only option I can think of is to attach a washer to/over it (Glue maybe...) and attach the spring to that...

    You may be better off applying a spotweld to the eyelet where it has worn through. With the tension of the spring, I cant imagine any glue would hold for very long.

    Yeah. That would prob be the right job.
    However the location and the fact that I can't weld is an issue!

    It's a long shot but would sump sealant work? proper industrial strength glue, or is that going too far?
