Rooting Minix Neo X7

Has anyone successfully managed to root their minix neo x7. I am trying to use Kingo Android root to do it but when i connect to pc i get device not connected. all settings on the box are set. ie Connect to PC and. USB Debugging Enabled not much info on the web for this issue
