Well, a video like that isn't exactly going to focus on the negatives. Still, nice video all the same

Not a single mention of the one sport in which Ireland can claim to be among the worlds greatest nations : horse racing.

I liked it other than that

Does it mention fluoride in the water, homeopathy and the fact that the gays aren't allowed get married here, y'know, in the interests of balance?

Didn't watch past the 7th second, it was referring to the republic, st patricks day belongs to the island of ireland, he converted our ancestors as well

Sure pick out the negatives and things it didn't feature. There will always be complaints.

I thought it was great, and we should be proud of our island.

A nice mix of rural and urban Ireland, I like that :)

Nice they highlighted in a split second the huge amount of talent we produce in music for such a small country.

Where is that lighthouse out in the sea and where is that modern looking footbridge at about 2:35?

    Fastnet rock.

The script for both videos just seem... well, poor. Imagery/music is nice though.

I don't think they should have mentioned the first eurozone country exiting the bailout thing.

The troika have stopped visiting once every three months. So what? To include it in a list of achievements that also includes Oscar winners is in poor taste IMO. Plus, it's not as if we had much in the way of competition from the other Eurozone countries.

Sorry OP, but you did ask me to piss on your parade :)

I remember loving this when I saw it first. It's all very sunny and happy-clappy, of course not a drop of rain :pac: but it'd remind you how beautiful parts of the country can be :)

They go into all of that from 8 seconds onwards.

Couldn't agree more. It's horribly written, and that big obtrusive text all over the screen is just ugly. I thought it was a homemade job - couldn't believe Failte Ireland would sign off on it.

Good music choice, and beautiful imagery, pity they had to cover it up with huge text with random messages referring to bank bailouts and how many Olympic Medallists we have. That's hardly going to raise goosebumps.

I would change the population stat, i told them that in the youtube comments but they deleted my comment. I took a look at the rest of the video today, i would remove the urban scenes and make it more rural focused, i also would change the colour of the text

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,440 ✭✭✭Stavros Murphy

I'd have bunged in a few leprechauns, some diddly'i music, turf, old lads with sheep-dogs and lots of shots of Wicklow, avoiding glimpses of Bray... Bring them with Bullsh1t, then kinda ignore them once they're here, i.e much the same as we've always done.
