High sided shower tray

    Hi,

I had a catalogue I picked up at some show or other a while back that listed shower trays that had integral high sides on the wall edges so you could lap your wall covering down over it, thereby making a much better seal to stop water escaping.
Unfortunately I lost the catalogue and cannot find the brand/type of shower tray anywhere!
Has anyone here got an idea of where I could track this type of shower tray down again?

    Thanks....

You are looking for a shower tray with upstands most bathroom stores will have them

    Hi, thanks for that.

Are upstands not for rising the tray as opposed to having a high lip to lap over?

I've found Neptune Leak free shower enclosures on bathshack which are basically a pre-moulded enclosure... it may have been
those I saw in the catalogue although I thought there were less compete solutions too that allowed you put your own sides in.

you can buy higher sided shower trays on the continent. They are used in caravans and mobile homes and tbh look awful. The best type is the one with upstands. The problem with upstand trays is they dont work well with frameless doors. But these are not the norm at present.

If you do want a frameless door you will need to buy a normal tray with a upstand kit. My brain is frazzeled at the moment and cannot think of the name of the popular one but there is plenty good out there.

Hi,Get a product called "classi-seal" it's perfect. It's a flexible stick on seal that you stick to a standard shower tray that creates an upstand that you then tile over. The seal remains flexible which is a bonus if fitting into a corner as there's no such thing as square walls. It creates a watertight seal and its what most professionals are using. Google it and you'll find a video demonstrating it.

    Good luck

    Ps- just a satisfied customer

Classi-seal is a good product when used correctly and the tiler does his job correctly.

However if its just a standard type door and tray your looking for then a tray with upstands is probably the best solution as it protects from leaks along the wall sides and along the shower doors.

But if its anything off standard of for around a bath then classi-seal is a great option, have used it plenty of times.
