Hi, just wondering can anyone help me as my accountant seems to be a bit slow with this situation.

Between July 2011 and September 2012 I was self employed. I ceased trading just after this. I recieved my Income Tax Bill in December last year for just over €1000. In the meantime I went back to college to change career, supporting myself by working part time, earning around €220 a week. I was to receive Tax Back from last year of €480 and claimed it last week. Today I got a letter saying that revenue are holding my Tax Refund until I pay my Income Tax Bill.

Unfortunately I cannot afford the payment of €1000 as im struggling as it is and was sort of relying on the Tax Back to pay off college fees etc. Is there anyway out of this situation or even making a deal with revenue?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks

Ring revenue - they will more than likely offset the 1000 with the 480 and arrange payment of the balance over 1 to 3 years
