    Then it's all up to weights.
    You would need to check max towing weight of your transit on a label plate.
    Something which looks like that:

    In above example DGVW (design gross vehicle weight) is 1780kg.
    DGVW with the trailer is 3180kg.
    That means this vehicle can tow a trailer of 1400kg maximum.

    Once you find out the maximum towing weight for your transit, you will know if you can tow a cortina.
    In short trailer unladen weight + cortina weight can not be higher than max towing weight of your transit.
    Also cortina weight can not be higher than maximum allowed trailer load.

    Yes you should be OK, but check the weights. A lot of people say you need a 4x4, but I've never seen that other than an opinion on Boards. It's the weights that are crucial.

    LWB transit I've driven had towing capacity of 3500kg so this would be plenty.
    But I suppose smaller FWD versions might have much lower towing capacity.
