How come this isn't open to the public?

Again, another missed opportunity by the Irish to show off something quite unique

It is or certainly used to be.
I've been up it a couple of times.

It was open, but has been closed since Dec 24th 2013.

Sandy Claws is stuck somewhere in the middle of it.

I've been working in the area since 2012 and it's not been open during that time. I pass by it every day.

Why can't it be opened up? Imagine the views from up there. Wow!

With that imagination you don't really need to go up it.

Do I need to explain again?

You don't. It just wasn't funny the first time around!

I think the costs of running the lift/insurance were not being covered by the money it made. This followed some fairly heavy duty repair works as well, so maybe having thousands of visitors a day is not good for its structural integrity.

I think it was last open around 2007, so obviously now that we are in Housing Bubble 2.0 we should consider re-opening it.

    Terrorism ma'am.

    Can't let the terrorists win.

Is that what you want, for terror to win?
