Going to Knock and hiring a car there. I will be staying in the North,for a few nights. Do I HAVE TO PAY AN EXTRA CHARGE WHEN HIRING THE CAR? How will they find out if I don't? Thanks for advice.

A matter and answer entirely within the gift of the hire car company and the uberrima fides declaration you will execute relating to your insurance for the duration and purpose of your rental.

Northern Ireland is considered a high risk location by many insurers and car hire operators. If anything happens, you may find your self with a bill for a few thousand euros.

Note they will have your credit card details.
