I'm currently going through the DTs. Shaking bad, sweating, palpitations and the whole works. I'm worried my body will die by seizure although I usually live through it to see the next weekend and the cycle repeats.
What are boadsies experiences of the DTs?
I'd say Terry gets them quite bad ;)

I quit drinking at 2am Monday morning. If I can just make it to tomorrow I'll be ready for pints on Friday through to Saint Pats day.
Although I spent over 700e this weekend :(

Why didnt you have a few pints tonight as a wind down to reduce the side effects of your delirium tremens?

I only have one can left. I'm getting a lot of pains. Feel like I've done 10 rounds with Tyson. My joints are in bits.

Doubt its DT's Teddy, if it was(and not being anyway smart you wouldn't be able to post here)
It does sound like serious withdrawals though and that can be dangerous.

I know its AH but if you get fever etc, DOC maybe your best bet

I hallucinate though. Earlier I thought there was smoke coming out of my laptop. If I turn the lights off I think I'm seeing spiders on the wall, or rats disappear behind the table. It's genuinely awful. I get this crap every time I stop drinking. But I drank four days in a row. I don't remember most of it, i did however have a shower this evening and find two small twigs fall out of my ass. That's a new one!

Since I've been on boards I've talked about trying to stop it, I just haven't been ever able. I know I drink too much, it will kill me very young, I just hope I live long enough to do a few specific things I'd like to achieve.

DTs happen when you are physically dependent on alcohol so it's something that most people, myself included, wouldn't have personal experience of. If they really are that bad then it can be dangerous. You're supposed to taper gradually over a few days rather than stop cold turkey. You should see a doctor for advise.

Get down to your GP at 9.30am for a prescription of Librium.

If you can't wait til then, head to A&E, shouldn't be busy, and they'll give you some Libs to tide you over for the moment and a prescription to ease the withdrawal process.

I've been through it a few times, it's a right bastard
