I live in ROI and I really want to have all the ITV/Ch5 stations available on my EPG and recordable like there is in northern ireland which includes RTE1/RTE2/TG4. Has anyone tried calling sky and telling them that you are moving house to northern ireland? Do they switch your package to the NI one? I'm sure I could muster up an NI address and i already have a sterling bank account. Is this possible???

Sky wont help you in that regard. You either live and subscribe here or in NI.

However you can have a look at this thread

Please explain how? I would say the complete opposite.

More channels, costs less and only TV3 is missing if you have a NI subscription.

the missing sky tv channels you are missing on a irish sky card are on freesat to record

the sky box sets are on the most expensive uk sky packs while its on the basic irish sky pack

I have saorview, freesat+ and skyHD+ basic irish sky pack, they all compliment each other

As I only get sky sports only when the ERC rugby is live, I subscribe 2 hours to sky sports before a live game like on a saturday, then cancel sky sports by phone on the the following monday in work all for about an average 44euros per month but not every month
I ignore sky sports half price deals as live EPL football dow not interest me

also getting bt sport on the irish sky card is better value as you get the channels in hd and you get setanta sports in SD
I only miss live europa league live games on bt sports as they are blocked but are available on setanta, 3e, itv4 etc

While I would agree with this, if you want HD versions (and many do) of some of those channels you will need Sky.

I don't think this would be an issue for the vast majority of people as I would say most people wouldn't bother with it

I would go for a similar setup myself if I wanted to subscribe to Sky. Sky box for subscription and my VU+ Duo for FTA satellite and Saorview.

That wouldn't be a problem for anybody wanting a basic subscription.

The most important difference is the cost of Sky in Ireland. The UK get a much better rate.
