Why wouldn't he just give him the $1000?

As he wanted to make a video, only reason I could imagine

Very nice thing to do but cant shake the feeling of 'look at me, look at what i did'.
The genuine reaction from the homeless guy is lovely, but i cant help felling all he is, is a pawn.
    I hope im wrong.

So some dude, who makes good money off youtube, sits around one day brainstorming new ideas for videos. It comes to him that he should 'give' a homeless man 1000 dollers because such a 'kind act' would surely go viral and make good money.

The youtube video already has over 12 million hits. At least making $18,000. So while on one hand, a homeless man got 1000 bucks is a very nice thing that you cant argue with. But on the other hand, we all see through this nice business move.

But ultimately.... since a kind act was done... Guess all the above is crap.

Is it an act of kindness if your doing it to make money though?Or are you just hiring someone on a short term contract?

I get what you're saying, it's hard not to be cynical when you factor in the money they're making from youtube. These types of videos have become popular in the past 6 months or so, There's another crowd in the States called GiveBackFilms who do it, even pranksters like Vitaly and RomanAtwood have got in on it.

if they want to be charitable, maybe give the homeless guy the money made from the you tube video.

that 18 g would go a long way for him.
