    They aren't all bad. They can function well and are a wearing part. It is an extra cost of diesel ownership but be careful at what stage of ownership.
    A family member just bought a diesel and I have no doubt that the car will ever have dpf issues while they own the car as they will sell in 3 years and don't do big miles.
    Buying a car with 100k miles is a different box of frogs.
