visa to Ireland

    Hi everyone,
    I'm looking to get some info-advice how to get a visa to Ireland for my child's god mother, she leaves outside Ireland, now planning to have the christening for our second baby, want to invite my friend as god mother for my second child. just wondering if possible at all to apply for her visa,

    What passport does she hold and where does she live at present? The second question is relevant because she will probably have to apply at her nearest Irish embassy.

    hi Coylemj, thank you for quick reply, she leaves in Moldova, and she will have to apply for visa at the Irish embassy in Bucharest.....
    just wondering if at all possible to get a visa based on an invitation from an Irish citizen to come for the christening.

    Moldova is a 'Schedule 3' country under the Immigration Act 2004 so she will need a visa.

    She can apply either via the Irish embassy in Bucharest or she can send it direct to the INIS agency in Dublin, web links below.

    yes, she would have to apply for that, but takes up to 2 years, and is not cheap.....but we need her to come to Ireland in May. so need visa...
