Threatening Email

Hi all - first post! I just have a quick question as to what constitutes a threatening or offensive email. Long story short, I received an email proporting to be from a journalist - in the end the email was from somebody who wanted to hack my facebook account (they included a link to a fake facebook login page).

I replied to them telling them that they'd have to be a lot cleverer than that to catch me out. They replied saying that they 'plan on doing better' and included a picture of me with a target on my head (as if from a sniper rifle).

My question is, do I have cause to go to the Gardai or has no offence actually been committed?

Many thanks for your help and insight.

Even though they seem to be a pathetic waste of space, go to the Gardai with it anyway in case they find it amusing to do it to someone else.

Thanks guys - I think I'll go ahead and file a report with the Gardai.
