Will my assessment count if I defer?

    Hello people!

I'm thinking of deferring an exam in my masters this semester due to personal reasons. The exam is worth 85% of the module and there's 15% going for continuous assessment- of which we've done about 12% worth already. Does anyone know if the marks I may have gotten so far through the assessment will still carry over if I sit the exam in August? I have heard that when you fail an exam and have to repeat, the exam is then worth 100% of the marks for the module, but I am wondering if it's the same for deferred exams?

A quick email to either your course director, or person in charge of that module and you'll have a very certain answer in no time.
