I read an article recently where a section 3 assult was thrown out of court on medical ground I.e no medical evidence was supplied. My question is what medical evidence is needed for a section 3, assult causing harm, or a section 2 assult. How is an assult categorised from s.2 to the higher s. 3 offence

For section 3 there must be evidence if harm, same is usually supplied by a doctor. Section 2 there does not need to be any evidence of harm just of assault.
