I failed my NCT due to this damage on my bumper. Can anyone recommend somewhere to get it fixed. I am in Dublin 8 so anywhere nearby or city centre.

Tape over it if you want a quick fix.

Failing for that? That's a bit harsh.

Looks like an exposed sharp edge

If you tape over it then it will pass. Of you could get some bumper filler, sand and paint.

If you want a proper job done any bodyshop should be able to sort. Maybe even a mobile SMART repair could do it.

Took your advice and taped it, went back to the NCT centre and it passed.

    Thanks everyone for your help.

I am genuinely amazed and also learnt something new. I would not have thought that could work.
    Well done OP and tin79.

Yeah exposed sharp edges, once they are not exposed then its no longer a fail. Pretty much any cover up job will pass it once its not structural.

For structural repairs you will need Duct Tape. :pac:

Nah a good dollop of womens cover up makeup will do. Nice thick stuff.

My first car, Hyundai accent (the awful heap that it was) passed with a badly split front bumper. The day before the NCT a neighbour reversed into it with a tow bar. I decided to put it through anyway with the bumper held together with cable ties (the lower edge) and the crack taped up. It passed.. well it failed on handbrake imbalance ... but the bumper passed. Passed the re test with the "fix" still in place while I waited for the neighbour to cough up for the repair.
