Hi lads. May not be the best time to put this up but anyways here goes. We expecting my brother is going to come home from oz on a surprise journey home. That's all well and good but the parents health has gone down a small bit since he left two years ago and I genuinely don't think they'd handle the fright if it.

Is there anyway of finding out if he's booked on a flight to come home without tipping him off. He'd nearly be flying with emeriates as he usually does.

Why not just tell him your thoughts?
I don't think he'd be very happy if he found out you had secretively ruined his surprise without consulting him.

If your parents health has deteriorated to that extent, why have you not told him? I know if I were away, I would want to know.

And secondly, if you're not the flying passenger, you can't get access to any of their booking details.

Send an anonymous tip to Customs saying your brother is due to land a big haul of Class A's in soon. After his cavity search he'll ring you to get a lift from the Garda station.

Or just talk to him about it...

I think he'd be even more unhappy if his parents get a heart attack

just let him now how you feel about this

Tell your parents you want the farm signed over and forget the little ****e that went off to Oz to be sunning his arse on a beach.

They'll be delighted to see your brother then.

No need for customs or pax information.

Disclaimer: just tell your parents or get your brother to tell your parents.

Why does everyone coming home from somewhere have to involve a surprise now??

Its like the Neknomination thing, you get one clown who will do it and post it on facebook/youtube thinking they're the best, so then you get a load of clowns trying to outdo them so they can feel like king/queen for the day. It just gets embarrassing

Also, I don'y buy the reason for the original request for one second. It makes no sense to me, more to this I think.

This 'surprise visit home' is a very self-centred business. Its all about ME making arrangements to suit myself and to hell with whatever might be happening in the home household. Elderly people (well a lot of people really) don't really like this surprise visit business. Part of the pleasure is anticipation and 'getting things ready' for the wanderer. So Seamus arives home and goes 'surprise!' and beggars off to the the pub with the brothers while mother is in a flat spin trying to sort a bedroom and see if there are any fatted calves in the freezer.

Tell him parent is not too well, and find out if and when he is coming.

    Agreed

Thinly veiled as I'm banging this fella's girlfriend and he's possibly coming home from Oz and really don't want to get caught watching the discovery channel...

Agree. Although the mammy will no doubt have a fatted calf in the freezer.
Tell him it is not a good idea to surprise them, if they are not in good health.
