    Hi,

I see a lot of you buy parts from Hardwareversand.de.
Do you know anything about Scan.co.uk?
I am just about to buy parts for a self build, which my friend is doing for me.
He always uses Scan and never heard of Hardware.
My budget is max €3k and looks like i have reached that.

Both are totally safe . Hardwareversand are cheaper than scan on a lot of stuff but they are more akward to order off because you have to do a bank transfer instead of just credit card or paypal. I have used both often and both are spot on. Personally unless the price difference is huge i normally go with scan.co.uk or overclockers.co.uk just for the ease of it as i work long hours and the bank is always closed when im off so not worth the hassle. Other places are www.dabs.ie / www.komplett.ie / www.elara.ie / www.amazon.co.uk
Some of those are way more expensive most of the time but shop around

€3000 build?! Post up your specs dude, that's very expensive depending on what you building. Single monitor 1440p gaming rig would about half that. 1080p would be closer to €1000.

Yeah I'd love to see this duel 780ti rig make my eyes water.

Hardwareversand are good... when everything goes smoothly.

If you have a problem with a product and want to return it expect long delays/issues etc.

Communications can be problematic and delayed while you wait for someone with English to respond... calling is probably faster though I didn't try this.

As I said before, if you order, then transfer the money quickly and have no issues with what's delivered (delivery is very fast and their products are generally packaged well.. you get what you ordered) then it's a good solution.

EDIT: oh yeah, small thing, plugs/keyboards are european, not UK as you'd probably get from scan/overclockers

Scan are very speedy. Some good selections of items that aren't on hardwareversand. Some items are cheaper too. Their daily deals can be very good. RAM selection is poor and shipping can be steep with heavy stuff.

Hardwareversand tend to be cheaper if you're going for the full build. Average price tends to fall. Again, HWV offers unique items not available in other places. Downside is that they can be slow to get back to you with emails etc.

I've read a few times that Hardwareversand have has issues delivering pre-built pc's to Ireland, quite a few times the pc's haven't worked once they arrived, possibly down to the transport companies. I think I saw a thread about it a few weeks ago on here.

highly recommend scan, got my rig off them and a few more bits. Great support as well.

I built my system from scan too. Great and speedy service, but their account system is bollox. Had to do a new account each time buying from them. Just a little bit annoying. They might have fixed it by now as I have not ordered anything from them in about a year.
Cc payment and company being in UK with English speaking staff is a big plus too.

I heard something similar about the time I was replacing my old PC, so I just had all the bits shipped & self-assembled, although I really regret not paying a few euro extra for a modular PSU.... my cable management leaves quite a bit to be desired...

    Wouldn't touch Dabs really.

Scan VS. Hardwareversand comes down to price, which HVS usually win.
