£34.00 return to central London. What kind of sick joke is that?!

Seems it..I thought the hour long tube ride was a joke but I'll settle for that no bother now :D
That is daylight robbery though..purely because of what it connects to.

Btw I find it funny that you are the first to reply considering your location :p

There is the Heathrow connect as well. Takes ten minutes longer, only goes every thirty minutes but is a third of the price.

The Heathrow Express in BAA's own service, the connect is the national rail service that uses the same lines, but stops at several other stations on the way to and from Paddington. Prices vary on the time of day but it is much cheaper than the Express.

Www.nationalrail.co.uk will give you the times.

Actually, it may not be a third of the price, I'm thinking of coming from the other direction, it is at least half the price though.

Where exactly are you trying to get to in London?
Could even be worth looking into getting a bus to a local train station and a train to a more suitable station.

Heathrow Express discount code just launched. 12% off. Still not a bargain however, just a little bit cheaper.

The HEX is handy if you're in a big rush and significantly cheaper than a taxi. That's what it competes with.

The Heathrow connect is absolutely fine if you're not under serious time pressure.

The tube is very slow though !
