Freshwater fishing season starting date

I've looked loads of places on where freshwater fishing starts in Ireland and can't find any info on the exact date. I have looked on the charter on this forum and various other websites but can't find an exact date. Can any one help with a date? Thanks.

What species and what river or lake in particular, as it varies?

Was up at Lough Sheelin last week and it's started there. Spinning and the fly from boats only as far as I know.
