Sheep gorged on ration

    Hello all,

One group of ewes broke out yesterday in the shed, and got at the ration. They didn't get at much, maybe a half a bag or so.

Now there are a few off their food this morning...

I suspect it was only a few gorged on the bit of ration they were able to get at. But it was enough to sicken em I think...

They are due to start lambing in the next week, so I would be a bit worried about twin lamb disease if they decided to go off their food totally for a while... :(
So - any suggestions on what to give them to right them? Or will they come back to themselves soon?

Bad time for it to happen alright, I'd be giving lectade to the one that don't eat, it encourages them to drink too which will help to get the ration through their system.
Easier to prevent TLD sometimes than to have to try to cure it

Bread soda, big spoonful each, dissolve in water and dose em with it.
and a dose of something like chanatol http://www.chanelleveterinary.com/productDetail.asp?cat=1&subCat=7&id=104

Well, both ewes that were a bit shook looking are now ok.
However, they both lambed early. One had one dead and one live but very weak lamb which died after 24 hours. The other had two dead lambs... :(

Annoying, but sure not much can be done now.

    Thanks for your posts above.
