Would just like to confirm something please.

Been trading on ebay for a few years and was sourcing stock in the uk and paying for it under my own name.

I am now registered as a business and VAT registered. I still have stock I sell on ebay which I bought in the uk and paid uk VAT on it.

From what I can gather, I can't claim the VAT back on this stock as it wasn't purchased in my business name, can anyone confirm thanks?

You are correct. To claim an input credit on your vat 3 return it must be a valid invoice made out to the business making the return.
