Shale gas and effect on commodities

    As part of an interview process I have been asked to look at how
    the increasing Shale Gas production in the USA has impacted commodity prices:

    I spoilered so as not to appear on searches. Im kind of a bit lost and I am wondering if anyone could point me towards some good articles.

    EY are the best of the big 4 firms in the energy sector. Lots of articles on shale gas impacts. Might be worth a look

    America becoming more energy independent due to increasing quantity of shale gas would be the major area i'd emphasize. You could run with that and tie it in with the effect it will have on oil prices if America starts massively decreasing the amount they import.

    I'd also bring up the current situation in Ukraine, use this article as a base to start off your research

    Finally I'd tie shale gas increasing availability in with agricultural commodities as cheaper shale gas due to increasing supplies will results in cheaper fertilizer for all crops.
