Slighty OT: Camelbak Performance Bottle "Hands free" question?

So found this bottle on Amazon that has a handy long straw, but does anybody know if you can take the long straw off when you're off the bike and use it as a normal camelbak bottle with the short bite valve? Sorry, don't know where else to really ask this and the picture doesn't really say much.
