Replacement Key stopped working ?

Replacement key I got for my Mondeo a good while ago has just stopped working.
Key can turn the lights on etc but immobiliser flashes the 13 error (no key code received)

Original car key works fine and will start car.

    Here's my questions ...
Is there any battery in this key that I should change ? )There are no buttons on the key)
How would I go about opening it up to have a look ?
or should I just bring it back to where I got it ?

On the original ones I think the bottom part (below that groove) pulls off. There may be tabs on the sides which you can release with a fine screwdriver and pull the key end down. Then separate the front and back of the top half to get at the battery.

If you've no idea how to open it then bring it back rather than ruin it, only this time try to find out how they open it.

I don't believe any immobileser transmitter in key could work on battery.

It lost its code you will need to bring it to a dealer and have it reprogrammed.
