Does anybody have any experience/knowledge of these bikes? I'm considering a Fairfax SC4 if anybody knows of it. Hybrid with carbon fork and disc brakes, spec looks ok for moderate use but I'm hesitating because it's hard to find any reviews.

Marin were THE bike to have in the MTB world back in the 90's..

So they have made a comeback now, I would expect there bikes to be up there with all the big brands..

Indeed, they were great bikes in the early 90's, at least - I haven't seen any recent offerings, but there's a chance that they're still good, based on their previous stuff...

Sounds good to me and is more or less what the shop owner told me. I'm considering changing from a road bike to one of these due to time constraints (4 small kids) busy job and a back injury. Probably get in 1 or 2 20-30k's in a week and a few short spins with the kids so the road bike would be a bit of overkill. Add the fact that the shop will take in my own bike makes it that bit less messy.

I've had a Marin Fairfax for the last four years and have absolutely no complaints. I use it for my commute but have also done Sportives on it and kept up with my mates on Road bikes no problem.
Upgrading to carbon this year though :)
