I've been told by my local mechanic that the dpf needs replacing. I got a second opinion and was told that it might just be the sensor that needs replacing which would be much cheaper to fix..

Can someone point me in the right direction as to where the sensor's located? Is it easy to replace? The car's in limp mode but still performs fine at times and then at other times it has no power. thanks

There are 2 pressure sensors, one before and one after the Dpf they cost about €70 and are known to go (I've had one replaced on my 159 (same engine))
But it didn't cause limp mode on mine. If the sensors are ok.....

If you can find someone with the correct software (fiat ecu scan should do it) get a forced regen done, it might clear it out.

As above get it removed and remapped €6-700 probably the best choice if you have the cash.

People have had success with removing and power washing the dpf ( while you have it off bore a couple of holes in the matrix with a big masonry bit ;) )

Have you tried cleaning your egr? They do get clogged and can cause errors if the solenoid is stuck (it's a simple 1 hr job)
