Arghhh, I was running for a bus in Galway last week during the rain and I bumped into an old women by accident. I was going quite fast and really bumped into her hard so I stopped to apologise but she looked a little afraid and didn't look at me. I didn't want scare her any more so I didn't persist in my apology and just had to continue for my bus.
I felt awful, it was one of the worst feelings I've ever had. The fear in her eyes was undeniable and all caused by my carelessness. She was probably frightened for the rest of the day, she must have thought I'd attempted to rob her bag or something.
Have other boardsies done things by accident that leave you've feeling extremely guilty?

Is copping a sly feel what got you into this scenario to start with?

Reminds me of the time a good few years ago in Bandon, Co. Cork when 4 of us drove down for a few pints and I was messing with the buddy and started chasing him up the street, we didn't realise there was a oul woman about a 100 yards ahead of us who started screaming and turned around and ran off up the street waving her arms crying for help thinking she was gonna get mugged :pac:...poor woman.

I thought you had learnt your lesson about keeping your hands to yourself when commuting. Obviously not...

So you attacked an elderly (and possibly wheelchair bound) woman in broad daylight for simply having the gall to be in your way, scaring her near to death. Then manhandled her to try further terrify her into accepting an "apology" and when that didnt work you legged it to the nearest getaway vehicle which happened to be "your bus" (presumably bullying and threatening an old man out of a ticket) so you could slither back to your lair.

And you come here looking for all of us to justify your actions ?? I'll give you one thing Teddy, you got some balls.

Guilt is like carrying a bag of bricks. The question you need to ask yourself is who are you carrying the bricks for?

one of my best friends told me that, I think about it a lot. I hope it helps :)

Had a little accident coming off the bike on Sunday. Have no memory of the incident - was out cold for 15 minutes at the scene and spent a lot of the week in hospital. Hence I don't know if I was in any way to blame. If there's anyone else out there that does accept blame they can take the responsibility for 3 broken bones in my cheek, 2 broken wrists, a couple of breaks in the back, a suspected broken jawbone and a lot of ongoing pain and discomfort. Anyone owning up to it????

I heard the poor woman is agoraphobic too and that was her first time outside her home in seven years. When she got home, she was so upset that she accidentally sat on her helper monkey and killed it.

I was running to the GPO one day (it was fast approaching closing time) and a little boy (around two or three maybe) suddenly decided to break free from his mother and run right in front of me towards whatever shiny object had caught his eye. I was going much to fast to stop and so for reasons only known to the Gods of happenstance, I grabbed the little blighter and ran with him for what was maybe only seven or eight feet, but may as well have been a few mile to the mother. Apologies were offered but sure the damage was done at that stage and so no gratitude what shown when the child was returned to it's owner. Fecking GPO was shut too.

Typical cyclists, always blaming other road users for their mistakes!
    Get well soon.

that old woman may never walk the streets again Teddy after that altercation

if she thinks about leaving her home in the future all she will see is the nightmare of the shaved head, tracksuit, gold chain and the groping hands approaching her at speed

Walking through the train station one day, I was half-running for a train and two older ladies passed in front of me. As they were passing, one of them stopped in front, and her heel clipped the front of my foot. She took a small trip. She turned around as I was apologising and her friend clutched her elbow. The two of them looked at me as if I had just pulled a gun on them/and or insulted a terminally ill child. They didn't even respond to my apologies, just continued looking at me in disgust! I felt so bad after it :(
