New motherboard recommendation

    Hi there

Currently my motherboard is an ASRock N68-VS3 FX, processor is an AMD Phenom II X6 1035T Processor.

Unfortunately the network adapter on the motherboard is not a gigabit one. Got a PCI express one from Amazon but when it was time to slot it in, turns out the motherboard only has 2 PCI slots and they're both taken by the AMD Radeon HD 7800 graphics card.

    So...

1 - Any suggestions on a new motherboard?
2 - Any place you can recommend to have it installed? Don't really have that much time and never put in a motherboard before, although you guys will say it's easy enough.

    Cheers for any help!

It would be fairly time consuming alright. You'd need an new windows install when switching motherboards.

You could get a cheap motherboard - €40 can get you an OK one.
I'd be more inclined to fork out a bit more for the newer chipsets, full set of SATA 6Gbps ports and a USB 3 header.
    For example:

You could clone the hard drive and remove the drivers from it using acronis.
I cant remember how to do it but it can be done.

Ah, reinstalling Windows would be a pain in the ass but doable!

    Cheers for the recommendations, Monotype!
Those two seem to be pretty much samey, any preference?

They are very similar. Same ports at the back, even. Hard to say which I'd go for myself. MSI have proven themselves to be quite reliable to me and customer service good, when I needed it once. Asrock on the other hand, do a really good job with their BIOS menus and often have better fan control than other manufacturers.
You're getting much the same product, so if you have preference for either, then go with that.
