riello rdb boiler problem

    i have a riello rdb burner. last night it just stopped working. i starts like its about to fire up but doesn't ignite. anyone any ideas? plenty of oil not air locked and photo cell clean

    Does it lockout with light on control box illuminated?

    no it just keeps trying to start doesn't lock out

    your possibly not getting the required amount of oil pressure through the nozzle.You really need a pressure gauge to check the pump.You could have a partially blocked nozzle!.what happening here in my opinion is the when the flame is being ignited the fan supplying the air is blowing out the flame.If you didnt adjust the air box,i would clean the filter on the oil tank and the oil pump and fit a new nozzle after testing the oil for water/contamination

    When you say it keeps trying to start; does it keep running through the start up sequence or does the motor just keep running without going through the sequence?

    Out of tune.
    Or oil pump faulty .


    Does it keep running or lock out ?

    Have often seen this with
    a) overaired combustion
    b) faulty PE cell

    Dirty photcell i'd reckon, good service and tune up would most likely cure it.
