We all know that tensions get especially high in the run up to and during Cheltenham. Therefore, in order to ensure we all get through Cheltenham in one piece, I'm including a few reminders from the charter below. Can you please have a quick read through it. If you've any questions, PM either myself or one of the other mods/Cmods.

    Spamming
Topics/posts that are just complete nonsense will be deleted, and the user will be infracted/banned.

    Trolling
A troll is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.

Just as bad as trolling is "Feeding the Trolls". Please do not reply to comments that are blatantly from a troll. Do not to abuse them or call these posters trolls. It is up to the moderators to judge this, so simply report the posts or private message any moderator of after hours. At the point at which a troll has gotten a negative reply from you they have won. The trolling was successful and has been fed. When encouraged by success and feeding, trolls often return.

    Flaming
Posts containing personal attacks on another user will be edited/deleted. Attack the post, not the poster. Minor infringements will warrant a warning followed by a ban. Serious infringements and/or intentional flaming will receive an automatic ban.

    Reporting Posts
If you have a problem with any post or notice that a post is in breach of the Charter, then use the 'report post' button. Do not take matters into your own hands.

Anyone who insults or attacks other posters will be infracted and/or banned from the forum. And remember, if you have a problem with a post or PM, please report it - don't get drawn into a tit-for-tat - you'll only receive an infraction and/or ban.

Leave the modding to the mods
With regards to re-regs and/or re-reg trolls, report your suspicions, and leave it to the mod team to take whatever action they consider appropriate. Do not continue to report posters in that situation unless new information about a possible link comes to your attention

With regards to commenting on mod actions: it is a site-wide rule that posters must not comment about modding matters in-thread (except in the Help Desk or possibly Feedback forums). If you choose to ignore this rule you can expect a card and/or ban.

If you think a poster is trolling (re-reg or otherwise), report the post. If you have a problem with a poster then try to ignore them (put them on your ignore list if you wish, but do not state in-thread you have done so - that's backseat modding). Do not comment on other posters in-thread.

Don't post asking for people to be banned/infracted. It will earn you an infraction and/or ban.

I'm just re-stickying this thread as a reminder to all who are posting here over the next few days. We all know that tensions run high in the run up to and during the festival, but hopefully we'll all survive it in one piece.
