Hi chaps I'm looking to buy a x type jag and one that I spotted needed two injectors done but was still driving.
I can get the injectors at a fairly good price but I need them coaded is this a major hassle?roughly how much to get them done?
Excluding labor I'm going to do that myself

If they are the same as the mondeo its only a case of programming the pcm with the sixteen digit code off the injector.

Chances are if two injectors are gone the other two are not far behind them might be aswell to replace them all.

No harm to take a sample of fuel aswell.

I was thinking about doing all 4 and be done with it..
What's involved UN programming the pcm?

A guy at work paid savage money to get injectors done on an x type a few years ago in a main dealer.

Needs to be connected to proper diagnostic equipment.

Is it something I'm likely to find outside of a ford dealer..Wicklow south Dublin area?

Mondeo injectors can be reconditioned for about 150 a piece. But the root cause of 99% of injector failure in mondeos is the breakdown of the lining of the high pressure pump and that's another few hundred and a nice chunk of labour to replace.

As for coding the injector, I've done it on a Bosch diagnostics unit in the past. The codes are on a sticker on the engine.
