So i had a bad time today with <snip> in <snip> A little bit messy trying to meet they to pick the car up after giving them a deposit. On the day of buying the car things changed and stephen the owner, started asking for more money so he could fix something that my mechanic had given the thumbs up on. Also had Joe in one ear and stephen in the other at one stage about what was said at different point of contact. At one point i said they were giving me the run around to which i got back that i was giving him, stephen the run around!!! All i want to do is buy the car!!!!

Has anyone ever had the same with them?

    Thanks.

Kinda pissed off now as i really liked the car and was looking forward to driving it. So we agreed a price then wanted more money to fix "the problem". I got home and starrted the look for a car again and saw he had the car up for 500euro more then the starting price i was looking at it for!! All kinda weird!!!

Stephen is alright but I wouldn't trust Joe with my last euro.

All people who have only written a single review (to badmouth them). Poster here has only 1 post.

I've never heard of them but wouldn't be basing any opinions on them after this. Read like an annoyed competitor, to me. If nothing else i'd be curious to check them out.

Have never bought a car from them but have test-drove a few over the years and they seemed sound enough to me.

    Stephen and Joe being bullies.

I had an experience with them once. Very helpful. Stephen in particular told me a really good joke. I'd tell ye, but I've forgotten it. Joe made me a cup of tea. A really nice one.

Top blokes. Highly recommended. Thread balance is restored.

    My work here is done.

There was a time a few years back when I was buying my first car and that lad Stephen was bringing me out for a test drive. Anyway half way through it he very kindly offered me to buy lunch. We had a four course nosh up over two hours and a jolly good time altogether, with him throwing the bill on the company gold card.

Then when we were coming out of the restaurant a passing bank robber with a bag marked 'Swag' stumbled across us and pointed the gun at me, shouting 'your money or your life', seeing as I had my life savings of €759 in my pocket I decided that I'd rather be killed than hand it over to that scum. With that the robber pulled the trigger and like a flash Stephen hopped out and took the bullet for me. He was a bit hurt so I drove back to <snip> and while he was bleeding profusely we continued to negotiate the deal, with Stephen being the consummate gentleman at all times.

Just as we we near to agreement and haggling over the final (but crucial) last €4 out comes Joe from the office and shouts "Would you hurry the fcuk up, this man is bleeding to death". I was so unimpressed with his outrage and bad customer service skills that I walked away from the deal and didn't take the car.

So yeah, I'd concur with others here, Stephen is a great lad who'd even take a bullet for you, but that Joe is a nasty piece of work. Be warned, it's Stephen you want, not Joe.

    ^^

Unless of course, it's a cup of tea you're looking for. I hear Stephen still talks with a limp and can't hear properly out of one elbow.

With the constant gagging of anyone who dares criticise any car dealer whatsoever and the aggressive responses on threads like that, I can only assume that Motors is now being run by the dodgy dealer's association.
Actually, it makes all the sense in the world selling dodgy motors, no one is allowed to name and shame, the law protects, the authorities don't enforce and when word of mouth starts doing you harm, you fold an open up under another name.
Come to my dealership, Bodge&Scarper, where we sell top motors. If anything goes wrong, we will treat you to indifference and vague threats, we buy the local sheriff lunch and next week we may be gone.

Mods are here to make sure that, among other things, boards doesn't get in legal trouble. We have had problems in the past where businesses have gone after boards for comments made, and now choose to err on the side of caution.
Part of that is to be extra vigilant where new posters sign up to name and shame as we don't know the background and there's two sides to every story.
