    Just a quick question.

Does car tax have to be up to date to scrap a car?

    No.
However you will need to have it towed to scrapyard, as you can't drive it legally on the road without tax.

Some scrappers will come pick it up at your house.

And as said, no discs needed. Just logbook.

If i can deliver then I will be offered more cash.

not worth the risk. the back tax might be more than the scrap value.
Advertise it on donedeal for spares or repair and someone will handle the grief for you. Make sure they fill in the VRC though and YOU post it

Can't tow it either without tax, but it can be trailered.

That's what I done. Sold it to a guy who took it away on a trailer and scrapped it himself for a small profit.

I'd stick it up on a few sales sites and let someone that might need it as a donor car come get it.
