Really not sure if this is the correct thread but sure here goes. If a mod knows of a better one please move.

I have to go to Limerick on Saturday but unfortunately my own car doesn't have the gear box to make it. I have a car ordered for the morning with Enterprise rent a car and I'm just wondering what do I need as their office is closed now. I don't have a credit card so have to use a Visa Debit card from what I understand I need a bank statement, payslip and utility bill (Meteor?).

What do I need my bank statement for? do I need to have a certain amount of cash in the account? I'm in a position where I can give them a cash deposit but the bank account is tapped out. I can deposit money into the account for tomorrow if they need the deposit (how much is it?) by card.

Cheers in advance, if anymore info is needed please let me know.

I've used them before and always gave my Irish Driving license and a credit card.
They are taking €1 from your card at the time of renting,as a validation method BUT the final amount is open to further damage and so on.
When car is returned OK,they will charge you the agreed amount !

I remember going on holiday in Europe, every time coming back home and renting a car there just calling my bank and telling them that I've lost my card...
