Would anyone happen to know the return fare from Waterford to Cork on bus eireann. Ticket will be purchased at the ticket office, not online.

I can't seem to find non-online fares on their website. Thanks in advance

€29.50 not the easiest to find on their website

    http://www.busfare.co.uk/eireann.html

Not sure why they're using a .co.uk site

As the three types of return tickets are the same price from Waterford to Cork it's best to ask for a monthly return. (On some/most other routes the day return is cheapest, with the Midweek return being a little dearer and the monthly return being the most expensive).

On a monthly return ticket it is possible to return on any bus on any day up until and including the expiry date (this date will be a day short of a month ahead and will be printed on the ticket).

If wished, the ticket can also be bought from the ticket vending machine in the waiting area in Waterford Bus Station a day or two ahead (as well as on the day of travel).

The fare of €29.50 is quite dear in my view though as the Waterford-Cork route 40 express is a commercial route (not subsidised) Bus Éireann can set the fare as they see fit.

Rail is another option from Waterford to Cork if the times suit (07.20 & 16.25 ex Waterford Mon-Sat, nothing on Sundays), change at Limerick Junction. Journey time a bit longer though. That said some buses can and do get delayed en route.

I understand the Busfare system is a software system Bus Éireann are using in conjunction with the developers of the software (rather than a system developed exclusively by Bus Éireann) hence the .co.uk address
The main bus company in Warrington, England also use the software e.g. here
