    Hi All

Travelling with a gang of 5 to Paris for the game, just want to know if people have been to a six nations/heineken cup game in Stade de France before where is the best rugby crowd and pub beforehand?

Will be located in a hotel city centre and then a metro out to the game about 40mins.

Any suggestions for a good bit of grub and a good rugby atmosphere before heading to the game?

Anywhere for food, Paris has loads of brasseries that serve great food. On match day, there are usually loads of temporary bars set up along the street from the metro station up to the stadium, good craic there. There's a pub very close to the stadium too that will be packed, shows the other games if they're on beforehand (can't remember KO time) on screens, including a screen outside the pub.

I was there for the France England game, you can start off in one of the Corcorans or Sullivans by the Mill, then take the metro out to Stade De France, its about a 10 minute walk from the station to the stadium with quite a number of food drink stalls along the way, and lots of standup open air mens toilets :)

    Enjoy the game.

Where should I head after France game in Paris? On a related note, where should I head before Leinster/Toulon game in Toulon?

    :pac:

Actually heading to this myself. However we arrive into Paris midday. What pub is good to go to to watch the other games that's near a metro that brings us to the station?

Might be a bit cliched but we went to Kitty O'Sheas before the match that was cancelled a few years back. There was a good mix of rugby fans from the differing nations all cheering every team bar England much to the bemusement of the English in the pub. There was a great buzz in the place, its in the Opera area 5 minutes walk to the nearest metro IIRC.

+1 on Kitty's, tends to get a bit packed though which doesn't help but the atmosphere is great.

The Auld Alliance, just off Rue de Rivoli, is a good (Scottish) boozer.

There's a decent enough Irish pub up the hill going towards Sacre-Coeur, nearest metro station is Anvers which is about 25 mins to the Stade de France going via the Gare du Nord. Think it's called Corcorans, beer is a bit eyewateringly expensive mind (€6.50 a pint or something mad like that)

I'm actually living in Tours for the year… (2 hours below paris) and myself and one of the girls somehow managed to get free tickets.. no idea what we're in for really. we're trying to decide whether or not to stay up in paris for the night or just get the last train home after the match?

What are peoples suggestions and where are people staying??

    Niamh

I'm staying with a friend but I'd highly advise against trying to return on the train. The match is late enough as it is (1800 CET). The only train you could even get is the 2308 one so you wouldn't get back til 1am.

That said the train is dirt cheap and I have no idea what the accommodation situation is like in Paris, but I imagine it will be somewhat pricey. Half the fun of the 6N is the craic before and after the game though.

Slight change of track here but do people know if you can move freely between sections when inside the Stade de France? The reason I ask is I am bringing my son(11yrs) and they have given me 2 tickets at different ends of the ground?
