How to connect a Google Nexus 7 (II / 2013) to a non HDMI tv

Hello all, I would greatly appreciate your help with what is turning into a minor headache.

I have a Google Nexus 7 (II / 2013). I want to mirror its screen content to an old style tv, one that does not have hd connections. I have researched this topic endlessly it seems but have not been able to find a solid solution.

The tv I wish to connect the Nexus to is a Samsung with standard pre-HDMI connections:

    - S-video
    - Composite (with the audio in also [so the yellow, white, red inputs])
    - Ant In

The television is about 10 yrs old. It still works perfectly. I also have various other tvs of the same type and do not want to go out and buy a new tv when these ones work fine.

Having looked into connecting the new Nexus 7 to a tv, I have discovered that there are various options such as:
    -miracast
    -chromecast
    -slimport

However, none of these seem ideal
-miracast seems to require a HDMI input
-chromecast does not appear to offer full mirroring; only working with some apps
-slimport seems to require either VGA or HDMI input

I considered using slimport at length and attempting to buy a 'converter', where I would use a HDMI output slimport with a cable that had a HDMI male on one end and maybe a Composite or S-video connection on the other end. However, upon further investigation, even using a standard HDMI cable to a standard HDMI tv seems problematic for lots of people who have written about slimport online.

So, what I am asking is if anybody might be able to advise me on what my options are?

I have looked into this in depth and find myself becoming less and less sure about what the ideal solution is. Thanks a million for any help

This thread might help you - http://touch.boards.ie/thread/2056929361 - but I suspect the only useable solution will require a new tv!

Thanks CinSoots. That thread seems to hang on the idea of having to convert a digital/pc signal to an analogue/tv signal.

I wonder though, if I use a slimport (male mini usb [connected to the Nexus] to hdmi female output) to carry the signal out of the Nexus, wouldn't it be ready for the tv anyway (provided I get a cable to connect it to the tv which does not have a hdmi input)?

What I mean is, would the following setup work:

Nexus > slimport [hdmi out] > hdmi to scart/rca/composite/s-video cable [e.g. hdmi male on one end; scart on the other end] > relevant tv input port [e.g. scart in]

Of course, there are vga slimports also available.

All advice would be greatly appreciated
