    Hi all,

I know this has been done to death, but, I really am interested in buying a commercial jeep, in the running are the

    Toyota Landcruiser 05-07 year

Mitsubishi Pajero 06-08 year (not sport)

    Nissan Pathfinder 06-08 year

I know the LC is prob the best, but they sooo expensive!

I had a Hyundai Santa fe 2008 auto, but gearbox packed in, cost €2500 to get fixed. Had no faith in it after that, so sold it and in a rush I bought a 2006 Toyota Rav4 2.2 Diesel. Its a grand little jeep but the tax is crippling me now, as I have a business so need to buy stuff for that rather than paying big tax!

Also re insurance, on the Rav4 I have it insured as Class 2, for private and business use. Could I do the same with a commercial jeep?

Also, when I look for jeeps on the UK Autotrader, only passenger ones show up, does anyone know a UK website that do commercial jeeps?

    Cheers all :)

What do you need the Jeep for ?

Towing ? if so how heavy, how big, how far how often.

Space ? If so get a van

Off Road ? Doing what exactly ? farming ? construction sites ?

You complain about the tax so are you looking for a passenger version with seats in the back ?

Sorry, but you need to put up a bit more info. Also, there's a dedicated 4x4 forum on this site too, might be a better place to answer some of your questions.

Yes IMO out of that list the landcruiser is by far the best jeep, however they are overrated and are not as good as they are made out to be.

Landcruiser I have yet to here anyone that have had that model that had a bad word to say about them. I've been in a few and know a good few people who have them they are a very reliable and serious when it comes to pulling weight.

I know the tax is an extra €600 over the land cruiser, but you'll have to spend multiples of that to get into one and then spend more on diesel.

    Thank you for your replies!

Sorry I didn't put up more info, no reason for needing one, just I want one! ;)

I just wanted to know which would give me the least heartache after the crap I had with the Santa Fe.

Ill check out the 4x4 section, didn't know there was one.

    Thanks again everyone :)
