I remember hearing that capacity through Dublin City Center would be increased to 20 trains per hour once the re-signalling project was finished. Does anyone know if this project is finished and if not when is it due to be completed? Are there plans in place to run more Maynooth trains to Pearse after the upgrade?

Finished? Irish Rail have been promised cash for this project since 1999 but it keeps getting put of, put of, put of thorugh a myraid of reasons. I can't see this work happening until the main signal office, CTC, has been moved to new accommodation in the next 2 years or so.

The first phase is complete - that's from Malahide/Howth to Connolly.

Actually they ran out of money to fully finish the first phase. They started on the second phase without finishing the first one and ran out of money.

There's some track work going on at Platform1/Boston Sidings at Grand Canal Dock station. The tracks along the platform are lifted at the moment. Related to the resignalling work perhaps to turn it into a turn-back station for west & north commuter lines?
