Just wondering as I have a big bag of loose change that i put away over the years about a couple of hundred euros worth. I don't really have time to take it to the bank and sort out the coins. Any suggestions of places if Star don't do it? Thanks.

Tesco has a coin counting machine at their service desk area.

Or buy stuff at self service scans at tesco make sure it has the basket where you throw the coins in rather than the old machine which was one coin at a time slot

You could ask one of the local shops if they'd take the coins and give you notes/larger value coins instead. That's what I do, although I have the coins sorted and placed in money bags.

nowhere is going to take it unless it's bagged and they have a weighing scales.

tesco's coin counting machine is your best bet if you don't want to bag it. this is why they take the 10%

I use this to get rid of pocket change after a heavy weekend on the sauce. Very handy.

The coin counter takes 9%. Always amazes me to see people use it all the time. Crazy amount to pay, especially on larger amounts.

Tesco machine is a feckin rip off

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

How is it? They are very clear and upfront that they charge for the service. You can easily walk away. They are playing on human laziness and it works.
