eBay problem - Am I being unreasonable?

Hi guys, quick question...

Dropped my phone on Sat night, screen broken beyond repair. Needed another one kinda sharpish so went on eBay Sunday night and had a look...

Bought the exact same model I had previously. Now, I could have got it for about £30-40 less than I paid but I choose a more expensive one as it guaranteed next working day delivery, which would have been today. This suited as it's already my day off and I wouldn't have had to take a day off work and lose a days wages.

Anyway, the phone doesn't arrive and I message the guy. He apologises and says he didn't realise it would be a problem, it's posted today and will be with me tomorrow. Except I won't be in and will be unable to pick it up from the depot until at least Saturday.

Would I be unreasonable asking for a discount and, if not, leaving negative feedback? Normally I wouldn't bother but I did need it for today and it was well advertised on his listing that it would be next working day delivery.

I should probably add that it's an actual business and not a private seller.

What 'process' time does the seller list? Next day delivery is from when they send it not from when you bought it so if they specify a process time of 1 day then you get it on Wednesday. I also think you should have contacted them to ask them to send for delivery on Tuesday as you had specific requirements

was it from Ireland or England,post is not usully next day,

did he charge you extra or next day delivery,if so he should refund some of the postage,



as for your cracked iphone its an easy repair,

You're right, I probably should have said I specifically needed it for today but going by the above, I just assumed it would be.

The next day delivery is from when they post it. They said that they don't post items ordered over the weekend till Monday, you've no hope of a discount and you can't leave bad feedback because you read it wrong.

Next day delivery sent on Monday will be delivered on Tuesday ie today

Perhaps you have read it wrong. I was expecting it to be posted on Monday, it wasn't. They posted it today.
