The Ukraine is the largest producer of corn in the world and produces a vast amount of other tillage.

If something serrious kicked off yes but it won't its a lot of muscle flexing by Putin but he is smart enough not to order the first shot

Russian troops have already fired warning shots over the heads of unarmed Ukrainian soldiers at a crimean airfield.

Maize prices have already risen a small bit in last few days because of it but it'd want to get a lot worse for any big jumps

You're basically hoping for a war. I'll take a drop in milk price to prevent that. I'll take a drop in milk price to keep meal cheap too I think.

Or a rise in meal price to keep up milk price?

If there is war which is unlikely it'll start about territory and conclude about food!!

Ah calm down now, there's no one hoping for war. All that's needed is a bit of uncertainty in the markets to keep the grain prices on the rise. Because of the Ukranes importance to European fuel supplies, a small bit of uncertainty could have a big effect on the markets.
    No, no war hoped for.

i'd be more worried about fuel and fert. A lot of europes gas and urea comes from that part of the world.

Prices are hardening for wheat and maize. This has to be a good thing for tillage and milk.
I've had four traders on this week looking for me to forward sell grains so this tells me that a bit of volatility is on the way. Stagnant markets are no good for traders trying to get a margin.
