    Hi All

Just want to get a good idea on the price of a full service on 2009 Nissan Qashqai 1.5 DCI and also timing belt full kit and water pump.

It has 94K K KM on clock so timing belt due @120,000 or 5 years.

    Main nissan dealer mad prices
Full service including fuel filter 220euro
Timing belt kit and water pump 450euro

I know main deals can be expensive but never expected it to be this bad.

If anybody could give me an idea what a independent garage should be charging for this work to be done.

    Thanks
    John

Neither price seems excessive. How much did you hope for?
An indy may drop below that but it won't be by much. What's included in the full service?

Well i priced parts in a motor factors and the timing kit water pump fuel filter and oil filter would cost me €130

So if i pay someone to fit them then its just price of oil say €50 so €180 then + labour charges

So 670 main dealer so i think with parts and labour maybe €400 to €500

Timing belt done for just about any car will be somewhere close to 400 with labour.
Full service can be anything so any price. I had one once for 400 euro at a main dealer. That was when I started fixing thing myself.

You can get a quote from an indy or two but compare like for like (know what a full service means for your particular car).

Btw, there may be a recall on those for timing belt. You may want to check that with dealer.

A motor factors won't be supplying you with Nissan genuine parts where as a Nissan garage doing the job will. Also if Nissan do the work they will put either a year or 2 year warranty over the work done. I'm not trying to say get the work done in a Nissan garage but just be careful and compare like with like. Check out whatever independent garage your using and make sure they have a good reputation and when buying parts don't go in a get the cheapest sh!t filters you can find to save a few quid. Stick with main brands that are well known or price Nissan genuine parts and compare them. As some absolute crap brand fuel filter for example won't filter the diesel to the same level in terms of microns as a Nissan filter/ main brand. Just know what your buying and who you have doing the work other wise the saving money exercise could end up being very costly.
