hi, not sure if this is the right forum, but was wondering, as i'm beginning to get a few too many spam, and also some security problems, would it be an idea to delete my original and long hld google account address, and start again?

You don't need to delete it completely, just shift off the important stuff (bank, Paypal, anything personal etc.) to a new account, preferably with 2 factor authentication enabled. You can then just keep the original for the random sites that you need to sign up to but are ultimately less important, like boards, facebook, twitter etc. I've 3 different accounts at this point.

thanks for the reply blowfish. do you find this sufficient, without going completely paranoid on it?
and do you mean setting up 2 step verification on the new google account?

For me, sure. It gives the freedom of being able to sign up to lots of sites if needed, while not having to worry too much about the address being harvested if one of the sites has been compromised as there's nothing truly sensitive or important associated with it.

Yep, though no reason not to add it on both accounts really.
