The speedmaster is iconic, versatile and all that stuff, but I just prefer the PO. When I was looking for a PO before Christmas, I found it hard to find anyone who would part with theirs, and easy to find people who regretted selling one before.

Most will probably say the Speedmaster though, if that's the answer you're hoping for.

Feck off E. :D *most/vintage, non practical old fart* That would be me E. :o:D Me? I'd be flipping the PO and sit back for a time waiting... ever waiting... for a pre moon, column wheel speedy, maybe throw a few quid on top of the flippage price?

    Ha, easy there, grandpa!

I just meant that there are probably far more reasons to pick the speedie - but it'd be the PO for me. And let's add in that 45.5mm watches will probably be out of vogue soon enough, which would be another reason to go for the Speedie.

But I'm sure DT knows all this stuff, so it sounds like a personal preference thing.

I have the 45.5mm PO, too, and had contemplated flipping for a 9300 Speedy... but the PO has won me over. As you know, it's an absolute gem, but chuck it on a black OR orange ISOfrane (highly recommended), it's incredibly comfortable. It's the largest of my watches but is worn at least half the time (a couple of Stowas and a Sub compete for wrist time :) ).

A well know poster here has both and we recently had this same conversation.

IMO the speedy hands down (boom boom) is a better looking watch. It's such a personal preference though.

It's a bit like hating father ted, some people would abuse me for saying that and others would agree.

ahhhhh DT...keep your PO, thats the one you swore you would never flip. you're probably wavering at the moment, let the moment pass and see how you feel about it in a few months. i would love both of those watches. i cant split them. i think the solution is to get both:pac:

I agree. My own watch tastes seem to change on a regular basis. I've sworn I won't buy another watch unless I still want it after waiting a good few months [1]. Also a good idea to wear a new purchase exclusively for at least 4 weeks to get a good feel for it.

[1] Did that with my speedy.....;)

Is it wrong to have a Speedie and a PO...

Well you do have two wrists... so maybe having both makes sense:)

I'm no scientist, but I'm pretty sure that's why humans have two wrists

Batman is a scientist, and he wears a JLC reverso, so he can have two styles at once

Speedy reduced. Weirs have a couple in their Grafton Street window. Not my cup of tea, they are pretty small. They are often quite cheap second hand though.
