Nononsense.ie car insurance - not happy

My insurance was due for renewal a few weeks ago. I got a good online quote from nononsense which I decided I'd purchase as my previous insurer wasn't willing to match it.

Anyway I made the payment, they then emailed me the documents to fill in and send off to them freepost, which I duly did.

I then got an automated letter from them after a couple of days telling me to send on my documents which had me worried my docs were lost in the post or something as I'd sent them off at that stage.

So I called them up, got through to what sounds like an outsourced foreign call centre and the guy told me he could not confirm whether or not they had received my documents. He then told me there was a 5-10 day backlog there at the moment and he couldn't be certain when I might receive my policy and insurance disc.

So here I am a week later still waiting for it, not even sure if they have my documents or not.

Can't really use the car as all I have as confirmation of insurance from them is the email confirming payment so I'm forced to stay off the road until I can legally drive again.

Have to say it's highly unprofessional of them, if there was to be a delay they should communicate this to their customers especially new ones and not leave them left in the lurch as I have been.

Anyone else had a similiar experience?

Sounds like "lots of nonsense" to me. Any chance you might get them on the trade descriptions act? :pac:

    Sorry, couldn't resist!
